A $10,000 contribution from Travis and Jason Kelce helped bring 14 relatives and friends of U.S. hockey player Laila Edwards to Milan, where Team USA won Olympic gold.
A $10,000 donation from NFL brothers Travis and Jason Kelce helped U.S. hockey player Laila Edwards’s family and friends travel to Milan for the 2026 Winter Olympics, allowing 14 people to watch her compete.
Edwards’s father, Robert, started a GoFundMe campaign with a $50,000 target after the family realised it could initially afford to send only two people. The fundraiser was meant to cover travel for relatives from Cleveland Heights, Ohio, without forcing the family to choose between Olympic tickets and household bills. The Kelces, who also grew up there, made the largest contribution anonymously. Edwards later confirmed it came from them, the Associated Press reported.
Edwards became the first Black woman to represent the United States in Olympic ice hockey. Team USA beat Canada 2–1 in overtime in the gold-medal game, and Edwards assisted on one of the U.S. goals. Travis Kelce encouraged her before the tournament, while Jason Kelce and his wife, Kylie, attended an earlier U.S. game in Milan. AP reported that the fundraiser had raised more than $61,000 by the final.
