Prince Harry says he experienced depression during 2019 break from royal duties

The Duke of Sussex said in a video discussion about grief that he experienced a two-week period of depression after he and Meghan moved to Canada for a break in 2019.
Harry said that after his mother, Princess Diana, died when he was 12, he spent years feeling emotionally numb. He made the remarks in a MasterClass video titled “Redefining Grief: Building Resilience Through Loss.”
He described the move to Canada as a pause from a stressful period, when tensions with the royal family were rising. Within days, he said, he experienced what he called an “adrenaline crash” and felt unable to function without stress.
Harry and Meghan returned to Britain weeks later. In January 2020, they announced that they would step back as working members of the royal family. The couple later moved to California.
