The USS Abraham Lincoln has returned to San Diego after nearly a year at sea. The U.S. Navy says the carrier spent 265 consecutive days at sea without a port call.

The carrier arrived in San Diego on October 8, where families welcomed sailors. The Associated Press and USNI News reported that the ship spent 265 consecutive days at sea without a port call. The Navy said that was a record for a U.S. aircraft carrier.

The USS Abraham Lincoln deployed in November 2025 and reached the Middle East in January. It later took part in the U.S. military operation against Iran, the Associated Press reported.

During the 321-day deployment, the crew faced food shortages and mental health difficulties, The New York Times reported. According to the Associated Press, the Navy told Congress there had been eight suicide attempts among sailors in the carrier strike group. That figure applies to the group as a whole, not just the carrier's crew.
