Werder erase two-goal deficit late in draw at Borussia Dortmund

Werder rescued a 2-2 draw at Borussia Dortmund in the fifth round of the Bundesliga on October 9. Niclas Füllkrug equalised in the second minute of stoppage time after the hosts had surrendered a two-goal lead.
The first half ended goalless. Daniel Svensson put Dortmund ahead in the 80th minute, and Nico Schlotterbeck doubled the lead with a header from a corner in the 85th. Ludovit Reis pulled one back for the visitors in the 88th minute. Füllkrug then headed in Marco Grüll's free-kick in stoppage time.
The draw ended Dortmund's six-match winning run across all competitions and denied the club a fifth consecutive league victory. The hosts finished the match with 13 points, while Werder had eight. Visiting goalkeeper Karl Hein helped keep his side in the contest with seven saves and was named the Bundesliga's player of the match.
