Yamal renews more than 150 kilometres of road surface

More than one hundred and fifty kilometres of road surface were renewed in Yamal during the 2026 season, Governor Dmitry Artyukhov reported on October 14. He said the original plan was exceeded by twenty-seven kilometres.

The main work focused on the Nadym–Salekhard route, which is now fully asphalted. Funding from the Infrastructure for Life national project supported the work. Sections affected by subsidence are scheduled for attention next summer.

On the Korotchayevo–Novy Urengoy road, crews replaced electricity poles and utilities and reconfigured heating and water networks. The governor said work along this route would continue next season.

A new contractor completed part of the Gubkinsky–Purpe project, with the remainder planned for next year. On the Nyda–Pangody route, asphalt replaced slabs, the carriageway was widened and bridges were reconstructed.

Towns and settlements received thirty-five kilometres of renewed streets and courtyard access roads. This work was coordinated with utility repairs.

The regional government expects approximately eighty percent of regional roads to meet standards by the end of the season. That proportion concerns the regional network, while the overall work total also includes municipal roads.
