On Friday, October 9, Ukraine's president received the US congressional delegation in Kyiv. It included Senators Roger Wicker and Kevin Cramer and House members Marc Veasey and Dan Crenshaw. An Interfax-Ukraine correspondent confirmed the visit and the delegation's membership.
In his account after the meeting, Ukraine's president said the talks covered licensing production of missiles for Patriot air-defence systems. These systems are used to intercept ballistic missiles. He said Ukraine was ready to manufacture interceptors for its own needs and participate in joint production with the United States and its allies.
The participants also discussed Ukraine's needs ahead of winter and international assistance. Zelenskyy called for stronger sanctions pressure on Russia.
The official account describes discussions and Ukraine's willingness to cooperate. It does not announce an issued license, a signed production contract or a timetable for missile manufacturing.
