AfD confirms cyberattack and investigates data published online
Alternative for Germany confirmed a September attack on its hosting provider and is investigating material published online, Bild and B.Z. reported.
Bild said the purported leak contained 421179 emails totalling 281 GB. It linked some correspondence to Alice Weidel and Alexander Gauland and reported copies of documents, including Markus Frohnmaier’s identity document.
AfD said parts of several mailboxes had been copied unlawfully, most of them long unused. Its current federal-party mailboxes were unaffected, it said. The party is examining the material’s authenticity and connection to the September breach.
