Akinfeev says rehabilitation continues as he promises CSKA return

CSKA Moscow captain Igor Akinfeev said he is continuing rehabilitation from injury and intends to return to the team.
In a video posted on his Telegram channel, Akinfeev described working every day and asked supporters to be patient. He gave no specific return date and wished his teammates success.
Akinfeev was injured in April during a Russian league round twenty-three match against Tolyatti's Akron. CSKA won the game 2–1. Subsequent inflammation kept him out of the closing stages of the 2025–26 season and the start of the current campaign.
With CSKA, Akinfeev has won six Russian league titles. His honors also include eight Russian Cups, eight Russian Super Cups and the UEFA Cup.
