Antalya tourists describe storms and clearer weather by Friday

Russian tourists in Avsallar and Kas described rain and colder weather this week to RIA Novosti. Weather in Avsallar began improving by Friday, October 16, according to one holidaymaker.
Larisa, staying in Avsallar, said storm waves reached the hotel building. Guests attended activities at the beach bar wearing jeans and jackets. She said the sun reappeared by Friday and tourists went swimming again.
Alexander, on holiday with his family in Kas, said he had bought the trip in spring. He usually visits in October but found this year's weather noticeably colder than on his previous trips.
Rain continued in parts of the region on Friday. Turkey's General Directorate of Meteorology recorded 22.9 degrees Celsius and a light shower in Alanya at 13:14 local time. That observation concerns Alanya rather than every resort in the province.
The Russian tour operators' association and Russian Union of Travel Industry had earlier rejected a link between isolated cheap packages and the bad weather, attributing prices to the end of the beach season. Antalya's municipality said on October 15 that work was continuing after flooding in Demre caused by rain on the evening of October 14.
