Aleksey Kulemzin reports 343 substations offline in Donetsk

A power outage left 51,846 electricity customers without supply in Donetsk on the morning of October 10 after 343 transformer substations went offline, city head Aleksey Kulemzin said. Specialists had begun restoration work.
In his Telegram statement, Kulemzin identified four districts partially affected by the outage: Kyivsky, Kalininsky, Proletarsky and Budennovsky. His overall figure counted electricity customers in those areas. It cannot be treated as a direct count of residents, as a single customer account may serve more than one person.
Kulemzin cited information from Donetskenergo, a branch of Yugo-Zapadnaya ESK. He said restoration work was under way when his morning statement was issued. The reported scale of the outage described the situation at that point. His announcement did not specify why the substations had gone offline or give a deadline for restoring electricity fully.
