Amur rehabilitation centre plans to receive first patients in December

The Amur region's first multidisciplinary rehabilitation centre is due to receive its first patients in December, with about 20 veterans of the fighting in Ukraine in the initial group, Governor Vasily Orlov said.

Orlov announced the timetable during a live broadcast on his VKontakte page. It concerns the planned start of regular operations following a major refurbishment, rather than patients already being admitted.

The regional government's press office said about 388 million roubles had been allocated to the refurbishment. Equipment and furniture are currently being installed.

The centre is designed to accommodate up to 4,500 people a year. That figure describes its future capacity, while the announced first group is considerably smaller. Regional outlet Port Amur identifies its location as Blagoveshchensk.
