Vladimir Vorobyov has been named interim head coach of the Magnitogorsk team. Club management said disagreements between the coach and players had begun to affect the working environment.
Metallurg Magnitogorsk suspended head coach Andrei Razin from working with the team and appointed Vladimir Vorobyov as interim coach, club director Alexei Zhloba said. He said the disagreements concerned game-related demands and the way the coach and players interacted.
Zhloba said the suspension was temporary and intended to halt an escalating dispute that could no longer be resolved inside the team and had begun to affect the working climate. Talks between the coaching staff and players did not settle the situation.
Razin has led Metallurg since 2023. The team won the Gagarin Cup under him in the 2023–24 season. At publication time, the club had 19 points from 13 games and led the KHL’s Eastern Conference.
