Apple Corps to move Beatles Story museum into central Liverpool

Apple Corps has announced plans to move The Beatles Story from Liverpool’s Albert Dock to the city centre in 2028, taking over management of the attraction.

The museum will occupy the former St Johns Market space opposite Lime Street station. Apple Corps says the new venue will more than quadruple the attraction’s footprint.

Visitors will follow the band from their Liverpool childhoods through Hamburg and the Cavern Club to Abbey Road, Shea Stadium and the Savile Row rooftop performance. Reconstructed settings will incorporate sets and props from Sam Mendes’ Beatles films, due in 2028.

The company also plans a Yellow Submarine attraction at the neighbouring St Johns Beacon tower. Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr welcomed the project.

A share of every ticket sold will support local musical initiatives through the Apple Corps Liverpool Trust. The Beatles Story will remain open at its existing location before the move.
