Arktika captain records an Arctic Ocean description for blind audiences

Arktika icebreaker captain Vasily Gubkin has prepared a description of the Arctic Ocean for blind and visually impaired people. Rosatom announced the project on October 15.
Gubkin described Arctic light, drifting icebergs and the view from the captain's bridge. In a separate film, actor Leonid Yarmolnik described the icebreaker's structure and scale. Audio description conveys visual details in words for audiences who cannot see them.
Rosatom developed the project with Special View, a programme of the Art, Science and Sport charitable foundation. Programme experts and Rosatom specialists prepared the scripts. Participants received special training, and composer Tigran Jager created the musical accompaniment.
The release marks International White Cane Day on October 15. According to Rosatom's newspaper, Strana Rosatom, the project materials will be published on the Special View portal.
