Axios: Kushner renews demand in Oslo to halt Russian refinery strikes
Jared Kushner again demanded a halt to Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries during the Oslo talks, Axios reported, citing a source familiar with the discussion.
US President Donald Trump’s son-in-law joined by video link. According to the outlet, he reiterated the president’s demand to Kyiv.
Steve Witkoff, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Finnish President Alexander Stubb and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre took part in the talks. Reuters and Axios also reported invitations to representatives of Britain, France, Germany, Poland, the European Union and NATO.
Trump had previously linked Ukrainian attacks on Russian refineries to higher global oil prices. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said such strikes conflicted with American negotiators’ efforts.
On October 15, Vladimir Putin said the latest strikes on Russian refineries had caused no significant damage.
