Axios: Witkoff and Kushner may return to Moscow in October

U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are due to meet Ukrainian negotiators and European representatives in Miami on Oct. 9, and may hold talks with Vladimir Putin in Moscow later this month, Axios reports.

The Miami meeting is expected to focus on new U.S. proposals to resolve the conflict and last two days, according to Axios. Reuters has also reported that Witkoff and Kushner are scheduled to meet Ukrainian representatives on Friday.

The envoys presented the latest U.S. proposal to Donald Trump a day earlier and received his comments before traveling. Axios says Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Deputy National Security Adviser Mike Needham also took part in that meeting.

Washington invited national security advisers from the United Kingdom, France and Germany, as well as representatives of NATO and the European Union, to the discussions.

Witkoff and Kushner last met Putin in Moscow on Sept. 5. They then traveled to Kyiv for talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Axios describes a possible new Moscow trip as a prospect, not a confirmed visit.
