Spartak midfielder Esequiel Barco said the team kept training hard during the break and is eager for Saturday’s match against Krylia Sovetov.
Barco said the squad had kept working during the nearly month-long break and coordinated its training plans with the head coach to maintain fitness. “We missed playing and are ready to return,” TASS quoted the Argentine as saying.
Spartak are second in the Russian Premier League table with 19 points, two behind leaders Krasnodar. The Moscow side will visit Krylia Sovetov on October 10 in the 10th round.
On October 5, Spartak announced a contract extension for 27-year-old Barco through the summer of 2030. Saturday’s fixture will be the club’s first after the league pause.
