
Emergency power cuts and water-supply problems were reported in Kyiv after a strike hit a key energy facility. Kyivvodokanal said pressure had fallen in five districts of the Ukrainian capital.
Kyivvodokanal reported reduced pressure in the Pecherskyi, Holosiivskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, Sviatoshynskyi and Solomianskyi districts. Some homes there lost water service. Energy company DTEK reported an emergency power outage in the city.
NTV said all three metro lines, as well as trams and trolleybuses, stopped operating in the evening. The broadcaster reported that crowds at stops were unable to get home. The disruption affected both underground and surface public transport.
Ukraine’s Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal said a key energy facility had been hit. NTV’s report did not give a timeline for restoring electricity, water supplies or transport service.
