Belgorod region reports 592 repairs to damaged mobile base stations this year

Governor Alexander Shuvaev said communications had been restored at 357 sites since January. Some stations in border districts were damaged more than 20 times.

According to the regional governor, repair crews have carried out 592 repair operations on mobile network base stations damaged in attacks since the start of 2026. A total of 357 sites have been restored, with some stations repaired repeatedly.

The most frequent damage was recorded in the Belgorodsky, Grayvoronsky and Shebekinsky districts. Some base stations there were hit more than 20 times.

Operators’ repair teams work every day. Shuvaev said they receive support from the Bars-Belgorod volunteer unit and Russia’s Defence Ministry.

Meanwhile, the region is continuing to install towers under the federal Bridging the Digital Divide project, part of the national Data Economy and Digital Transformation of the State project. This year, the plan is to extend connectivity to 20 more settlements with populations of 100 to 1,000.

The government has expanded the list of settlements eligible for the programme. Residents can vote for their village or town to be connected in 2027 until November 8.
