Birobidzhan murder case sent to court after investigation

Investigators have completed a murder case against a 53-year-old Birobidzhan resident accused of killing his former wife’s partner. The case has been sent to court.

The Investigative Committee’s regional department for Khabarovsk Krai and the Jewish Autonomous Oblast announced the completion of the investigation. Birobidzhan’s prosecutor approved the indictment, which charges the man with murder.

Investigators allege that he met his former wife’s partner inside his car in October 2025. The conversation escalated into a conflict over jealousy, and the accused stabbed the other man. According to investigators, the victim died at the scene.

The prosecution account says the accused then took the body to a wooded area and buried it. He allegedly discarded the knife near a quarry and washed the car mats to conceal evidence. These allegations will be considered by the court.
