Bottas rides from Malaysia to Singapore instead of flying

The Cadillac driver plans to cover about 350 kilometres by bicycle before the next Formula One round.

Finnish Formula One driver Valtteri Bottas has chosen to travel from Malaysia to Singapore by bicycle rather than fly. The journey is about 350 kilometres, Tagesspiegel reported, citing dpa.

The 37-year-old Cadillac driver posted a video of the start on a gravel bike and wrote on social media that he was riding to Singapore. Bottas is a keen cyclist and is in a relationship with Australian cyclist Tiffany Cromwell.

He was able to set off early after retiring from the race at Sepang. Mandatory media appointments are scheduled for him in Singapore on Thursday, ahead of the next Grand Prix.
