Brazil’s exports to EU rise 60% in September, while shipments to Argentina fall

Brazilian exports to the European Union reached $6.95 billion, while those to Argentina totaled $1.36 billion, according to the country’s economy ministry. The trade surplus with both partners grew over the first nine months.

Brazilian exports to the European Union rose 60.1% in September 2026 from a year earlier to $6.95 billion. Imports from the bloc fell 8.7% to $4.06 billion, leaving Brazil with a $2.89 billion trade surplus with the EU for the month.

From January through September, exports to the EU increased 20% to $44.15 billion, while imports rose 0.8% to $38.05 billion. The nine-month trade surplus was $6.10 billion.

Shipments to Argentina moved in the opposite direction in September, falling 25.2% to $1.36 billion. Imports from Argentina rose 5.7% to $1.31 billion, giving Brazil a monthly surplus of $50 million. Over the first nine months, exports to Argentina declined 18.5% and imports grew 4.4%; Brazil’s surplus was $1.63 billion.

The data were released Tuesday by the Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex) of Brazil’s Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services. Brazil’s overall trade surplus for September was $7.741 billion.
