Britain confirms participation in November exercise in Poland

British troops will join an exercise in Poland in November to prepare for possible security support to Ukraine after a ceasefire, Defence Secretary Wes Streeting said.
Streeting made the announcement during a visit to Washington, Press Association reported. He said the exercise would prepare participants to support military training and Ukraine’s postwar rebuilding.
The Times, citing a defence source, reported that at least fifteen hundred personnel from Britain, France and Germany would participate, alongside Polish forces. The newspaper described preparations for a possible mission after a ceasefire.
Poland previously announced that it would host autumn exercises by the coalition of the willing. Prime Minister Donald Tusk said in July that Poland would both host and participate in the manoeuvres with British and French forces.
