Gruzdev says EAEU–Indonesia trade pact could take effect by year-end

The Eurasian Economic Union’s free-trade agreement with Indonesia could take effect by the end of 2026, Russian Deputy Industry and Trade Minister Alexei Gruzdev told RIA Novosti.
Most union members have completed domestic procedures, he said. Gruzdev also cited the Indonesian president’s announcement that he had signed a ratification decree.
The agreement requires completion of procedures in Indonesia and all five EAEU members: Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
The pact was signed in St Petersburg on December twenty-one, 2025. It provides for duty-free trade in more than ninety per cent of tariff lines. Gruzdev said lower tariffs should improve Russian and Indonesian companies’ access to each other’s markets.
