Celebrini ties Kovalchuk and Monahan for overtime goals before 21

Macklin Celebrini has scored his fourth NHL overtime goal, matching Ilya Kovalchuk and Sean Monahan’s record for players aged 20 or younger.

The San Jose forward scored the power-play winner in a 4-3 victory over Montreal, finishing Ivar Stenberg’s pass at 2:13 of overtime.

Celebrini also opened the scoring and added an assist to finish with two goals and an assist. San Jose trailed 3-1 entering the third period before Michael Misa and Tyler Toffoli brought the Sharks level.

According to the NHL, Celebrini has recorded at least three points in each of his past three games against Montreal, stretching back to last season.
