CSKA hope Alves will be available for Spartak derby
CSKA coach Dmitry Igdisamov hopes Matheus Alves will be available to face Spartak on October 25. The midfielder is already working in the gym, the coach said.
Igdisamov described positive progress in Alves’s recovery but expressed hope for his participation rather than confirming that he was ready to play.
CSKA resumed group training after two days off. The coach said pitch workloads would differ, with players who had spent more time in the previous match completing only part of the session.
The derby takes place at CSKA’s stadium in Moscow in the 12th round of the Russian championship. Kickoff is at 16:00 Moscow time. CSKA are fourth with 22 points, while Spartak sit above them with 23.
