Chinese fitness influencer Sun Yuanyuan, known online as Abeeeer, admitted breaking the rules during the Berlin Marathon after a photograph emerged showing her on a bicycle.
A photograph posted by the Official Marathon Time Integrity Unit account shows her riding near the 38-kilometer mark. The Berlin Marathon took place on September 27. RBC reported that the influencer has about 530,000 followers and had presented her time of 4 hours, 53 minutes and 46 seconds as a personal best.
Sun said she began feeling unwell near the finish. She called her conduct dishonest and said she would not make excuses for it. Questions had also been raised about the time she posted after it was compared with her race splits and the photograph.
