Conceicao denies row with Juventus staff after substitution

Juventus winger Francisco Conceicao denied arguing with a member of the coaching staff after being substituted during the 2–1 Europa League win at Celta.

The match took place in Vigo on October 15. Conceicao started and was substituted in the 64th minute. Media reports said he struck the bench, exchanged sharp words with a staff member and went to the dressing room before returning.

Conceicao said he had lightly hit the bench but had not argued with anyone. He said he went to the dressing room to use the toilet and change before rejoining his teammates.

Spalletti said the player should be angry with himself over his performance. If there was another reason, he was prepared to discuss it. The coach also said his staff denied the alleged confrontation.
