The track M*R*H by rapper BORO 700 disappeared from Spotify on October 7. Its distributor pulled it as French authorities investigate incidents involving the song.
The lyrics refer to Mohamed Merah, the Bataclan concert hall attack and Salah Abdeslam. An investigation was opened in the Loiret department after students were filmed singing the track on the grounds of a school in Beaugency.
A separate investigation was opened in Vendée after a video showed teenagers playing the same song in a church in Soullans. The local government and diocese called for calm after the footage sparked a strong reaction on social media.
Franceinfo reported that the distributor, rather than Spotify, initiated the removal. In August, Nice Mayor Éric Ciotti also referred the matter to prosecutors, saying he believed the rapper should face proceedings. The investigations are ongoing, and the reports do not cite a court ruling on the allegations of glorifying terrorism.
