Dmitry Kostygin placed under house arrest in new fraud case
Moscow’s Tagansky District Court ordered house arrest for former Lenta and Rive Gauche co-owner Dmitry Kostygin until Dec. 6, two sources familiar with the investigation told RBC.
The court ordered the measure for one month and 28 days. RBC’s sources said Kostygin has been charged with large-scale fraud under Part 4 of Article 159 of Russia’s Criminal Code.
RBC’s headline and opening summary refer to detention, while the body of its report specifies house arrest. Fontanka independently reported that the Tagansky court imposed the measure on Oct. 8 after Kostygin had been detained earlier in the week.
The case concerns alleged large-scale fraud. The published RBC report gives no further details of the accusation, which remains an allegation.
