DNA identifies three more victims of the Filo Jet sinking

Authorities in Northern Cyprus said DNA tests identified Julia Özcan, Ayhan Özcan and Süleyman Erdoğan, who died when a ferry sank off Kyrenia.
Cyprus Mail reported that Julia Özcan was a Russian national, Ayhan Özcan was her husband and a Turkish national, and Süleyman Erdoğan was a Cypriot. Their names were also reported by Northern Cyprus state broadcaster Radyo Güven, citing a statement from the prime minister’s office.
The Filo Jet sank off Kyrenia on August 30 while travelling to the Turkish port of Taşucu. The newly identified victims were confirmed through DNA analysis. Authorities said testing was continuing on the remains of another person recovered from the wreck.
The identifications mark a further step in the search operation following the disaster. Officials said the search for the last missing passenger was continuing.
