Dodo Pizza cyberattack defendant placed under house arrest

Moscow's Tverskoy District Court placed Denis Fridman under house arrest until December 8, 2026, in the Dodo Pizza cyberattack case, the Moscow City Court press office said on October 14.

Investigators charged Fridman under Part 3 of Article 272.1 of the Criminal Code, covering illegal use, transfer, collection and storage of computer information containing personal data. The allegations include acting for financial gain as part of a group.

Law enforcement officials cited by Interfax allege that he accessed customer data and passed it to others for payment so it could be published on a Telegram channel.

The company announced the cyberattack on September 28. It said it had blocked the attackers' access and notified communications regulator Roskomnadzor.

Investigators are continuing to identify other people involved in the alleged offence.
