Among the unusual belongings left by passengers at Moscow’s Domodedovo airport were a suitcase containing sausage, a car bumper and a painting of a pumpkin.
More than 27,000 items were placed in Domodedovo airport’s unclaimed-baggage storage from January through September 2026, the Association of Tour Operators of Russia said on its Telegram channel. The association said only about 30% of the recovered items were returned to their owners.
Passengers most often leave chargers, gadgets, sunglasses and headphones. Umbrellas, jackets and raincoats are also common finds. But some belongings are harder to mistake for ordinary lost luggage.
Unusual items included a suitcase containing sausage, a car bumper and a painting titled “Pumpkin — Queen of the Table.” The painting measures 40 by 50 centimeters. The source did not say who owned the items or whether those specific belongings were returned.
Unusual objects have also been reported among items left on Aeroexpress trains, electric buses and in terminals. At Domodedovo, most of the more than 27,000 items received over the nine-month period remained unclaimed.
