The Ravens’ receiving corps has been hit hard this week: second‑year rookie Zay Flowers was sidelined after aggravating a hamstring injury, and Ja’Kobi Lane was moved to IR following a wrist fracture, leaving the team thin at the position.
According to the NFL’s daily transaction wire, Brandin Cooks reported to Baltimore for a workout on Thursday, signaling the team’s interest in adding experienced depth to the group.
Mike Garafolo of NFL Network confirmed that while the workout went ahead, the Ravens are not expected to sign Cooks immediately, but the veteran could remain on the club’s radar as the season progresses.
Cooks, who turns 33 later this month, appeared in 15 games with five starts during the 2023 season, splitting his time between New Orleans and Buffalo after being released by the Saints earlier in the year.
He caught 19 passes for 165 yards with the Saints before joining the Bills, where he recorded five receptions for 114 yards across five regular‑season games and added another five catches for 78 yards in the postseason.
Since being selected 20th overall in the 2014 NFL Draft, Cooks has played in 173 games (149 starts), amassing 734 receptions for 9,811 yards and 60 touchdowns while wearing the uniforms of the Saints, Patriots, Rams, Texans, Cowboys and Bills.
Cooks’ most memorable recent moment came in the 2023 playoffs when he failed to secure a downfield overtime pass from Josh Allen in the Bills’ divisional loss to Denver, a play that ended in an interception and contributed to Buffalo’s elimination.
