Murray, who suffered the concussion early in the Packers game, was cleared for a limited session on Wednesday and completed another restricted drill on Thursday, showing enough progress for the coaching staff to keep him in the concussion protocol.

The next medical evaluation is scheduled for Friday, and if Murray is not cleared in time for the upcoming matchup against the Chicago Bears, veteran Carson Wentz is expected to start at quarterback. Wentz stepped in for Murray in Week 1, completing 12 of 19 passes for 133 yards and three touchdowns.

Wide receiver Jauan Jennings, listed with a personal matter, and right tackle Brian O’Neill, dealing with a knee issue, were absent from practice. O’Neill participated in a limited capacity on Wednesday, while Jennings has not taken part in any drills this week.

On the defensive side, linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel, nursing a chest injury, was limited for the second consecutive day, whereas fellow linebacker Blake Cashman, who had a wrist injury, progressed to full participation during Thursday’s session.

The Vikings will receive the official concussion update on Friday, which will determine whether Murray can return to the starting lineup for the Bears game or if Wentz will continue as the starter.
