A team of about 30 officers, supported by officials from the Anti‑Vice Squad, swept two of Veeramani’s bungalows, his office on Dr. Radhakrishnan Salai, a guest house in Teynampet and two other premises, seizing electronic material and documents that investigators say relate to the alleged offences.
The investigation began on Oct. 7, 2025, when an anonymous source handed police a pen‑drive and a cover containing material purportedly linked to sexual assaults. Veeramani was arrested on Aug. 29 and, along with alleged accomplices Shanthi and Mahendra Simhan, was remanded in judicial custody.
Police say the seized video shows Veeramani bringing several minor girls to a bedroom in the Teynampet house and assaulting them. Further searches uncovered additional videos, photographs of other minors and women, and records of financial transactions, including a property deal worth roughly ₹70 crore that is now under scrutiny.
Investigators have also issued a Look‑Out Circular (LOC) against Prakash, the son of SRMU general secretary Kannaiah, after learning he had travelled abroad. Authorities allege Prakash may have facilitated the movement of large sums of money tied to the case, prompting the LOC to be circulated to airports nationwide.
In a related development, police arrested Ganesan, a former Gem Granites employee of 23 years, after a video linked to the case was found on his mobile phone. He is being questioned about how he obtained the footage and why he did not report it earlier.
So far, investigators have identified nine victims who were allegedly assaulted by Veeramani at his various properties. The probe continues to examine the financial trail, property transactions and any further individuals who may have aided the alleged crimes.
