The new clinic is intended to streamline the handling of service grievances lodged by department employees, a backlog that has forced many applicants to make repeated visits to government offices for resolution.

On its first day, officials examined 32 pending files; the majority were cleared on the spot, while the remaining cases will be resolved once the required reports are submitted.

Minister John highlighted that a substantial portion of the backlog originated during the previous government’s tenure, prompting the need for a coordinated approach to clear the arrears.

The initiative is overseen by senior officials from the Higher Education, Finance and Law Departments, who will provide legal counsel and procedural guidance to accelerate case disposal.

Higher Education Department Principal Secretary B. Ashok attended the launch, underscoring senior‑level backing for the effort.

If successful, the clinic is expected to reduce the administrative burden on staff, cut down repeat visits, and improve overall efficiency within the department.
