The inauguration took place at the Kerala Armed Women Police Battalion’s headquarters in Menamkulam, Thiruvananthapuram, where SPC Ravada A. Chandrasekhar presided over the ceremony and highlighted the state’s commitment to enhancing the welfare and professional development of women police personnel.
Shakthi Hall, the first facility opened, is dedicated to self‑defence training for the battalion’s officers, providing a specialised space equipped for physical conditioning and tactical drills aimed at boosting personal safety and operational readiness.
The Prajna Learning Centre, another key addition, features a modern smart classroom that will host digital learning modules, interactive sessions and skill‑building workshops, reflecting an effort to integrate technology into police training curricula.
The Abhaya Clinic, inaugurated alongside the other projects, offers counselling and mental‑health services to police staff, addressing the psychological well‑being of officers who face high‑stress situations in the line of duty.
In tandem with the physical infrastructure, the battalion’s new website was launched, providing an online portal for information dissemination, recruitment updates and public outreach, thereby improving transparency and accessibility for both the force and the community.
