A temporary structure at Film City in Goregaon caught fire on Monday. Early reports linked it to Ramayana, but the film’s team denied that, while accounts of nearby productions differ.
A temporary filming structure caught fire on Monday, Oct. 5, at Film City in Mumbai’s Goregaon East. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation and Mumbai Fire Brigade said the call came in at 4:02 p.m. and the Level I fire was brought under control by 4:55 p.m. No injuries were reported. Electrical wiring, equipment and filming materials were damaged.
Some early reports linked the structure to the film Ramayana, but the film’s team said its set was not affected. Media accounts also differ over which television productions were nearby and whether filming was disrupted. The structure’s connection to any specific production has therefore not been confirmed. Authorities have not announced the cause of the fire.
This report was checked against details from the fire service cited by Indian Express and Mid-Day. Both outlets reported no injuries and described the fire as confined to a temporary structure, while accounts of the neighboring sets varied.
