Fitness expert Darya Kozhevnikova has suggested that people hoping to improve their fitness by New Year try the 90-day Winter Arc challenge. Participants set a personal plan and work through goals linked to physical activity, nutrition and personal development until the end of the year, she told NSN.
Kozhevnikova said changes in habits may begin to take hold after about three weeks of repeating actions regularly. As another practical target, she suggested exercising around three times a week.
Options include running, swimming or working out at a gym. Her comments describe general routines rather than an individual training plan.
Fitness trainer Dmitry Goncharov previously said physical activity may help lower cortisol, a stress hormone, and have a positive effect on mood.
