Five Gazelle passengers injured in Vologda region crash

Police in Russia’s Vologda region reported on October 10 that five passengers were injured when a Gazelle collided with a stopped Kia. All five received outpatient treatment after doctors examined them at a district hospital.
The collision happened on the evening of October 9 at kilometre 19 of the Erokhovo–Izboishchi A-144 road. Regional police said their preliminary findings indicated that the Gazelle driver lost control and struck the Kia, which was partly on the roadside.
The woman driving the Kia had pulled over to assist the driver of a VAZ-21074. That vehicle had left the carriageway and become stuck beside the road.
Police identified the injured Gazelle passengers as two men born in 1979 and 2007 and three women born in 1969, 1991 and 2008. The youngest injured woman is 18. Traffic officers are investigating the circumstances of the collision.
