Friedman says Hellebuyck suspension ends on October 23

Winnipeg Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck's disciplinary suspension is due to end on October 23, journalist Elliotte Friedman reported. He would then be eligible to rejoin the team.

Friedman said Hellebuyck had informed the club before its October 2 season opener that he intended to join the team.

The goalie was suspended after failing to report to training camp in September. He had earlier requested a trade after 11 seasons with Winnipeg.
