General Alexeyev describes treatment after February assassination attempt

Vladimir Alexeyev, first deputy head of Russia's military intelligence directorate, said doctors at the Federal Research and Clinical Center of Intensive Care Medicine and Rehabilitology saved his life after he was wounded.

Alexeyev described his treatment at the opening of the 28th national conference on life support in critical conditions, according to TASS. RBC reported his remarks on October 16. He thanked the center's specialists for the medical care he received.

The assassination attempt took place on February 6 inside a residential building on Moscow's Volokolamsk Highway. Investigators allege that Lyubomir Korba fired at least three shots at Alexeyev, fled and flew to the United Arab Emirates several hours later. He was subsequently detained and brought to Moscow.

Russia's Investigative Committee alleges that a Ukrainian Security Service officer recruited Korba in Ternopil in August 2025. According to the committee, he underwent firearms training and received instructions in Kyiv before being sent to Russia.
