Global Digital Forum in Moscow brings together representatives of 120 countries

The second Global Digital Forum is being held in Moscow from October 8 to 10, with participants from 120 countries, according to Sergei Kiriyenko.

Kiriyenko, first deputy chief of staff of the Russian presidential administration, said the figure during a plenary session on digital sovereignty. The forum's programme identifies the event as the second edition of the conference.

He said digital sovereignty had become a key issue as digital technology increasingly affects individuals, national security, competitiveness and development. He also argued that few areas of life now operate outside the digital environment.

The forum's organisers say the event runs at the Mechta complex in Moscow's Gorky Park through October 10. Its programme covers digital technology and international cooperation.
