Mogilev hosts festival bringing together young people from Russia and Belarus

The 19th Youth for the Union State festival and a youth forum opened on October 7 and will run through October 11.
The festival program includes youth song and dance competitions, along with creative, educational and discussion events. Organizers said more than 300 people from the two countries are taking part.
Igor Sergeenko, speaker of Belarus’s House of Representatives, called the festival a major Belarusian-Russian humanitarian project in his greeting to participants. He said the event brings together young people from different regions and gives them a platform to present creative work.
On Friday, October 9, the festival and the Union State forum “Memory. Choice. Responsibility” were continuing in Mogilev. In his address, Sergeenko linked the forum’s agenda to historical memory and cooperation between young people in Russia and Belarus.
