GMS poll finds 57% of Bavarian respondents favour Merz's resignation
A GMS poll for SAT.1 Bayern found that 57% of respondents in Bavaria supported German Chancellor Friedrich Merz's resignation. Another 32% wanted him to remain in office, RIA Novosti reported.
Among surveyed supporters of the Christian Social Union, 50% favoured resignation and 42% supported keeping Merz in office. The CSU forms a governing bloc with the Christian Democratic Union, which the chancellor leads.
The survey covered 1011 Bavarian residents from October 14 to October 19. Responses were collected through telephone interviews and online questionnaires.
