Russian ski jumpers hope to complete 3D scans in Klingenthal

Russia's ski jumping team plans to arrange mandatory three-dimensional scanning in Germany next week, head coach Yevgeny Plekhov told TASS.
Plekhov said earlier attempts to arrange the procedure had failed. The Russian delegation submitted requests to the International Ski and Snowboard Federation alongside Chinese and Kazakh colleagues but was refused, he said. He hopes at least the team's leading athletes can complete the checks.
The team is awaiting German entry visas. Applications were submitted early last week, according to Plekhov. Mikhail Nazarov, Yevgeny Klimov, Ilya Mankov and Danil Sadreyev are the prospective competitors in Klingenthal.
Three-dimensional scans record athletes' body measurements for equipment checks. The official FIS calendar schedules the Klingenthal Summer Grand Prix for October twenty-four and twenty-five. The coaching staff also plans to meet World Cup race director Sandro Pertile there.
