Russia's Investigative Committee classified the incident as hooliganism. A minibus driver struck a minor passenger, the agency said.
In Berezovsky, investigators say a bus driver struck a schoolboy on the head during an argument. Media reports had said the dispute began after the child asked for change in coins rather than a banknote. A video published with those reports shows the driver shouting at the boy and then hitting him.
The Berezovsky municipal administration said it would request information from the transport company and forward materials to law enforcement. The regional Interior Ministry said the driver was being questioned. Juvenile affairs officers are identifying witnesses and the person who recorded the video to obtain the full footage of the dispute.
Investigators are establishing all the circumstances. The case was opened under Article 213 of Russia's Criminal Code on hooliganism, the committee said.
