Shai Hope century carries West Indies to record chase against India

West Indies beat India by six wickets in Ranchi on October 9 to level the T20I series at 1-1, with captain Shai Hope finishing unbeaten on 102.
India posted 249/5 in their 20 overs, leaving the visitors a target of 250. West Indies reached 252/4 in 18.3 overs to win with nine deliveries remaining, according to the official BCCI match record.
Hope made his 102 from 45 balls. Sherfane Rutherford contributed 84 from 37 deliveries, and their fourth-wicket partnership produced 120 runs after West Indies lost three early wickets. Romario Shepherd then helped Hope complete the chase.
Sanju Samson led India's batting with 82 from 41 balls, while Ishan Kishan scored 43 and Shreyas Iyer made 40. The ICC describes the chase as the second-highest successful pursuit in men's T20I history. South Africa's successful chase of 259 against West Indies in 2023 remains the highest.
