Forbes estimates Lionel Messi’s net worth at $1.1 billion. Endorsements and business have supplied a substantial share of his income, while the value of some assets cannot be treated as the footballer’s personal wealth.
Forbes calculates that Messi has earned about $1.8 billion over his career before taxes and agent fees. Roughly $1.2 billion came from playing contracts, while more than $600 million came from endorsements, memorabilia and business. Celebrity Net Worth places his net worth lower, at $1 billion.
Forbes puts his annual endorsement and business income at about $70 million, roughly matching his on-field earnings this season. His estimated $140 million over the past 12 months ranked third on Forbes’ 2026 list of the highest-paid athletes. His partners include Adidas, which has a lifetime deal with him, Mastercard, Michelob Ultra and Lay’s.
Messi’s portfolio includes a stake in MiM Hotels, a boutique chain with six properties in Spain and Andorra. He is also associated with the publicly listed Spanish company Edificio Rostower Socimi, which Forbes values at $282 million. The sources do not state how much of the company Messi personally owns, so that valuation should not be counted as his own net worth.
Not every venture has worked out. BevNet reported that Más+ by Messi, a sports drink launched in 2024, is being phased out. Ongoing ventures include Argentine restaurant chain El Club de la Milanesa and football clubs Deportivo LSM in Uruguay and UE Cornellà in Spain.
Inter Miami could become a valuable asset. The MLS Players Association lists Messi’s guaranteed salary for this season at $28.3 million. Club owner Jorge Mas told Bloomberg he pays the player $70 million to $80 million a year, including commercial arrangements. Forbes has also reported that Messi has an option to acquire a stake in the club after retiring. The size of any potential stake has not been disclosed.
